Cherry Cobbler Squares
1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling
Combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening, as for a pie crust. Mix egg, milk,
and vanilla together and add to dry mixture. Pat 2/3 of mixture into ungreased
9x13 inch pan. Pour cherry pie filling over mixture and sprinkle the remaining
1/3 over fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Blueberry, apple, pineapple
pie filling may be used.
