I am in the spring
cleaning mode and decided to clean out my large collection
of
cookbooks and get rid of some. I came across some very old
books of my Mom's, and her handwritten recipes that
go back to 1935. I thought someone might be interested in
these three unusual Jelly and Jam recipes. These are not
TNT as far as I know, but it might be worth a try .
Tomato Jam
14 tomatoes, peeled and mashed
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 big boxes raspberry Jello
Cook tomatoes for 10 minutes after they start boiling. Add
remaining ingredients, bring back to boil. Put in sterilized
jars and seal. Can be put in any jar and refrigerated. Keeps
three months.
I know there was a recipe for Wild Grape Jelly, but couldn't
locate it right now. Will send in, when I come across it.
I have made that one, and it is very good.
