Busy Day Chocolate Cake

1-1/3 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
14 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 squares melted unsweetened chocolate

Put first four ingredients in the bowl of electric mixer. Add remaining ingredients. Beat for 3 minutes on low speed. Put batter into well greased 8 or 9 inch baking pan, greased and floured on bottom only.

Bake at 350º for 35 to 40 minutes, until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Can frost, or serve warm with whipped cream. Delicious moist chocolate cake, when in a hurry.
