Diet Baked
Apples
4 medium baking apples such as Rome
Beauty, Northern Spy, Rhode Island
Greening, Winesap, etc.
3/4 cup diet carbonated beverage (black
cherry, raspberry, ginger ale, etc.)
Wash and core apples. To keep skins from
bursting, pare them one-third of the way
down or slit skins around apples about
half way down. Arrange in baking dish,
pour beverage over them and sprinkle
with cinnamon. Bake uncovered at 400
degrees 45 to 60 minutes or until
tender. Makes 4 servings.
