sounds like you are looking for a mocha
frosting. Yes, it is good!
Mocha Frosted Drops
1/2 c. shortening
2 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 6-oz. pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate
chips
Mocha Frosting
Melt shortening & unsweetened squares
together in a saucepan. Cool 10 min.
Stir in brown sugar. Beat in egg,
vanilla, & buttermilk. Sift together dry
ingredients & add to chocolate mixture.
Stir in nuts & chocolate chips. Drop by
tsp. on greased cookie sheet & bake at
375 about 10 minutes. Remove from pan &
cool. Frost, then top with a walnut half
if desired. Makes 3-1/2 doz.

Mocha Frosting
1/4 c. butter
2 T. dry cocoa
2 tsp. instant coffee powder
Dash salt
2 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
Milk to make spreading consistency
Cream together butter, cocoa, coffee, &
salt; beat in sugar, then vanilla, then
just enough milk so frosting is
spreadable. This was in my '72 Better
Homes & Gardens, so might be the one you
want...hope so !
