Slow Cooked Pepper Steak
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. round steak
2 tbs. oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup chopped onion
1 minced garlic clove
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ginger
4 tomatoes or 1 (16 oz.) can chopped
tomatoes
2 large green peppers
1/2 cup cold water
1 tbs. corn starch
Cut the steak into 3½" x 1" strips.
Brown in oil. Place meat in crockpot and
add the next 7 ingredients. Cover and
cook on "LOW" for 5-6 hours. Cut the
tomatoes into eighths. (If using canned,
do not drain). Cut the green peppers
into strips. Add to crockpot and cook 1
hour more. Combine water and corn starch
to make a paste. Stir into crockpot and
cook on "HIGH" until thickened.
