I don't know if this is the sw corn chowder someone was looking for or not but I found it sent in by Elizabeth Fortiner from Willie Crawford's More Soulful Recipes newsletter.

Southwest Cheese Soup

1 pkg (1 lb) Velveeta cheese
1 can (15.25 oz) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained, rinsed
1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained
1 c milk
Fresh cilantro sprigs, if desired

1. Mix all ingredients except cilantro.
2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, til cheese
is melted and soup is hot.
Garnish each serving with cilantro.
